Through the Lens | A Peek Behind the Scenes

Hey gorgeous souls!

I am beyond thrilled to share a little sneak peek into the heart and soul of Kimberly Brooke Boudoir through our brand new behind-the-scenes video! For years, I've known the importance of creating this piece to showcase the magic that unfolds during our beauty and boudoir sessions in Houston, TX. After much planning, organizing, and a dash of courage, I finally made it happen, and I couldn't be more excited to share it with you all.

As a Houston-based beauty and boudoir photographer, my mission has always been to create a safe and empowering space for women to explore their unique beauty and sensuality. This video is not just a glimpse into the process behind our photoshoots; it's a celebration of the journey we take with each of our clients. From the initial consultation to the final reveal, every moment is a testament to the strength and beauty within every woman.

Pulling together a team of incredible women to help bring this vision to life was an absolute dream. From the talented hair and makeup artists to the amazing videographer, every person involved poured their heart and soul into this project, and I am forever grateful for their dedication and passion.

Creating this video was more than just a ‘marketing strategy’ for me; it was a personal challenge to step out of my own comfort zone and showcase the heart and soul behind Kimberly Brooke Boudoir. It took investment, preparation, and a whole lot of organization, but seeing the final result has made every moment worth it.

So, why did I make this video? Simply put, I wanted to give you a glimpse into the magic that happens behind the lens with Kimberly Brooke in Houston, TX. I wanted to show you that boudoir photography is not just about taking beautiful pictures; it's about empowering women to embrace their beauty and feel confident in their skin.

This ‘promo’ peek behind the scenes, is a window into the journey that happens during a boudoir session. I wanted to pull back the curtain and reveal the beauty in the process—the laughter, the moments of vulnerability, the posing instruction, and the raw, unfiltered emotions that are captured through the lens. Boudoir photography is about so much more than aesthetics; it's about empowering women to see themselves in a new light, to embrace their unique beauty, and to feel confident and empowered in the skin they’re in. It's about celebrating every curve, scar, and imperfection as a testament to the beauty of being authentically and unapologetically oneself. Through this video, I hope to inspire women to step out of their comfort zones, to see themselves through a new lens, and to embrace their beauty, both inside and out.

After a few hours together in such an intimate setting, a sort of bond forms between myself and my clients. We laugh, we chat, and we create images that capture not just their outer beauty, but also the depth of who they are. This connection makes each session unique and fulfilling. I'm reminded of the privilege it is to be a part of each of my clients’ journeys, and I'm grateful for their trust in me.

I invite you to watch the video HERE on my experience page, and see for yourself the beauty and empowerment that Kimberly Brooke Boudoir is all about. Thank you for being a part of this journey with me, and here's to many more beautiful moments together. Come as you are!

- With love and light, Kim

Amaze Yourself | Austin Boudoir Studio

The lovely Mrs. J had been missing her husband for a year. And she wanted to welcome him home from deployment in a very special way. So she came to me for her boudoir session and she surprised and amazed herself too. She gave us 5 out of 5 stars and said “I had a wonderful experience! I'm so happy with my photos. My husband is too! I was really amazed at how great they turned out. I will definitely cherish them for years to come. “

Mission accomplished.

Thank you, J, for allowing me to share some of your gorgeous images. You are beautiful, talented, creative, and hilarious. I so enjoyed working with you on this surprise welcome home gift for your husband that turned into a gift to yourself. Thank you for making me laugh so hard. Thank you for pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. Thank you for being you.

Kimberly was incredibly professional and quickly put me at ease. She gave great direction and helped me feel way less awkward.

Your Best Side is the Inside | Austin Boudoir Photo Experience

This gorgeous gal came to me to capture some sexy images for her husband, to celebrate their 1st year of marriage. Mrs. K had me laughing from the get go with her humor and sarcasm. At one point in the session we talked about favorite features and she said she and her husband are “butt people.” The way she said it made me crack up. Needless to say, we captured some beautiful images to show off her back side, however all of her sides are fantastic, including the inside. And take a look at her mesmerizing blue eyes, people. They are super gorgeous. Here are a few images from her session. Leave her some love in the comments, because she crushed her session and loved every minute of her empowering boudoir photo experience.

I have always wanted to have photographs taken and I’m so glad I decided to go with Kimberly Brooke. Not only was the shoot so much FUN… but the images are better than I imagined. She was so directive that I was immediately comfortable. Her confidence and enthusiasm were infectious and it definitely came across in my photos!

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone | Austin Boudoir Photographer

The gorgeous Mrs. K reached out to me about doing a session for herself to celebrate where she is right now. To celebrate her body after having a beautiful baby girl, after loss, after illness, after getting kicked in the teeth by life, and continuing to move forward… To simply rejoice in her feminine confidence in this moment in her life. YES, she did this for herself. Beautiful lady I am so proud of you for pushing yourself way out of your comfort zone, and thank you for trusting me with this experience. You deserved it, you rocked it, I am obsessed with your gorgeous images and in awe of your bravery.

Mrs. K shared some thoughts on herself and her experience, that I had to pass on… Her beautiful, heartfelt and authentic words brought me to tears.

“This body.

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be skinny. You know, like my mom...tall, skinny, simply gorgeous. But I'm not tall and skinny and I really never have been. Im built. (thanks Dad).

My muscle mass is dense (according to my trainer), I have an athletic build and it's taken me 29 years to accept the fact that I will always have curves and I will never be board straight and it's okay.

Do I have baby weight I still need to lose? yes
Do I have stretch marks? yes
Do things look different after my explant? yes

Are all these things okay? yes
Do any of these things define ME? no

This body has given life, has traveled the world, has comforted orphans, has been the shell to a broken heart, has walked me down the aisle to the love of my life, has knelt beside dying grandparents, has protected my child. My body is good. No matter the size, no matter the number on the scale.

Do I still have weight goals? Of course.
Do I still have fitness goals? Sure.

But I accept myself for who I am and what I am.

I had it on my 30 before 30 list to do a beauty/boudoir session for myself before my 30th birthday no matter my weight. I did a session before I got married and was probably in the best shape of my life. This time was going to be different and I knew that going in to it. I spent weeks mentally preparing myself and building up my confidence. To be honest, I really wanted to back out of the shoot last minute because I let my insecurities get the best of me. But I did the damn thing. And I am so glad I did! This is the only photo I've seen so far, but regardless of the way I look in the other photos to come, I am proud of myself.

(and to think I am posting this on social media...who am I ?!)

These photos will always represent a time of my life that was full of growth and change.

I've grown into my role as a mother, I've grown into my role as a business owner and a spouse. I've grown in my confidence and self love. I've grown into a better friend and I've grown in grace.

My body is different, but that doesn't mean it's not beautiful.

Ladies, book yourself a session. YOU DESERVE to do it for YOU! Document where you are in this season of life. You will be so glad you did.”

Here are some of Mrs. K’s own words about her Austin Boudoir Photo Experience with me…

“I could not be any happier with my experience with Kimberly Brooke Boudoir! Photo prep was made easy by her well thought out guide and Kim was available to answer all of my questions. I was very nervous going into my session because let's be honest... things just don't look the same after having a baby. During my shoot, Kim was encouraging and gave really good instructions and posed me for every shot which I really appreciated! I left feeling powerful, confident and beautiful. When it came time to view my photos, I was even more nervous than before. I was worried I wouldn't like them and that I would be disappointed... basically, I let my insecurities get the best of me. I was nervous for nothing! I LOVED my photos! I am so happy I did them to document this stage of life! I will be doing another session later on in life. I highly recommend doing this for yourself! Thanks Kim!”

Did a thing today.
Thanks Kimberly Brooke for pushing me out of my comfort zone!

Feel Alive | Austin Texas Boudoir Photographer

Mrs. C was celebrating turning 40 this year, as well as 15 years of marriage. She gave us 5 stars and says… “I feel so alive! I feel so beautiful and I am so proud of my butt. Something I have always been so self conscious of. Thank you!”

You’re welcome Mrs. C! You. Are. Welcome!

Thank you for taking a chance and stepping outside of your comfort zone. Thank you for dancing with me in your underwear. Thank you for allowing me to capture this time in your life. I’m looking forward to our next shoot together. - XOXOX

Learning to Appreciate your Body | Austin Boudoir Photographer

A quote from Miss J after her photoshoot with Kimberly Brooke Boudoir…

“Here’s the thing. I used to pick apart my body, like the majority of us tend to do. I didn’t appreciate it for its flaws & imperfections. I certainly didn’t respect it. While I’ve had my auto-immune disease since I was 18, and I’ve been hospitalized in the past, my body had never been through the level of pain & trauma it experienced those 40 days I was in the hospital. I watched this body - This body that I never appreciated - This body that I took for granted - This body that I constantly picked apart in the mirror - wither away every single day, and there was nothing I could do about it. When I was discharged from the hospital, I weighed 85 pounds, and I could not walk. I hadn’t been able to walk for over a month. I lost all my strength. I lost my muscles. I was functioning and moving like someone in her 80s. I couldn’t stand up by myself. I was winded from just ATTEMPTING to stand up. I had.no.strength. And you know what? It was during this time that I was losing my body (literally), that I began missing it. I finally began respecting it. I finally appreciated it. I took strength for granted. I took walking for granted. I took everything for granted. I’ve learned a lot from this experience, but one big thing I took away from all of it was that we NEED to love our bodies. It’s so so important. We NEED to appreciate them. Respect them. Bodies are incredible. They are a miracle. I’m only about 2 months out of the hospital now, and I have gained all my muscle and weight back! You know what this tells me? I’m strong. My body is strong. Even when it was weak, even when I thought it couldn’t do anything for me, IT WAS STRONG and it bounced back. From all the trauma it went through, it bounced back. Our bodies are strong, even when they may not seem like it. Our bodies are beautiful even when they seem imperfect. Our bodies are a miracle even when they are flawed. Our bodies, in all shapes and sizes are extraordinary. Believe it. Love it.”

Beauty and the Beach | Texas Beach Beauty Photographer

The beach. Truly one of my happiest places. So naturally I love taking beautiful photos there.

Tara wanted to capture some natural and whimsical shots of herself on the beach in Galveston, so away we went. I love the natural and neutral feel of her first look, in a simple dress she already had in her closet, and I also love the fun punch of color from her kimono, black suit and cut offs. This woman is truly beautiful, smart, strong and her spirit shows in these beautiful shots. She loved them so much she decided to make an album for her husband for their anniversary, which wasn’t even part of the plan.

Who says Galveston Beach can’t be beautiful?! I beg to differ! Here are a few favorites from Tara’s beach beauty session in Galveston, TX! I can’t wait to do some of these for my Austin gals on Lake Travis or Lake Austin.

The true beauty of a woman can be observed when she has spent the day at the beach.

I See You | Austin Boudoir Photographer

I am always so incredibly honored anytime I book a session with a new client, or a repeat client. Literally, every single time, every day, it never gets old. However, when someone tells me they are coming in from out of town or out of state, I just get giddy. What an honor that people would take an entire day or weekend to come visit me in Austin and have me capture their portraits, when I know they have options closer to them. It’s like I can’t believe it, every time.

This beautiful boudoir client came to see me from Houston, and she was such a rock star. She knew exactly what she wanted, and was more than ready to give the session her all and get gorgeous images for her upcoming wedding, as a gift to her fiancé. What I think she did NOT realize, was the effect that the session experience and resulting images would have on HER.

I always tell people that this experience is powerful, but those words don’t become real until you actually feel it for yourself. And Miss T felt it! Here is what she had to say about her session with me…

“YOU MUST DO THIS!”

Read on girl, read on! Because the best part is at the end!

“You absolutely must book with Kimberly Brooke Boudoir. I had known for a while that I really wanted to do a shoot for my fiancé for his wedding gift and started looking for photographers about a year ago. I came across Kimberly Brooke Boudoir and absolutely fell in love with her images. Upon booking, the nerves of being shot in lingerie (and even possibly nude) started to set in.”

“I was very nervous at the beginning of our shoot but Kim was seriously SUCH a delight. She made me laugh, gave amazing direction and ultimately made me feel incredibly sexy and comfortable. When we did the reveal I was so impressed by not only her photography skills, the attention to detail, how professional and artistic they were but ultimately, how beautiful and sexy I felt I looked. I had never seen myself in that light or that sexy EVER. I have always been self conscious of my body and it was liberating to see myself and not even think once that I looked anything other than amazing. I was literally brought to tears. I could not WAIT to send my girlfriends the pictures and they were all in love as well. When I gave my husband the photo album for on our wedding day I have never seen his face light up so much. He literally looks at it all the time and even our wedding photographer who captured the reveal told me, "I have seen many brides give their husbands a boudoir photo album but I have never seen anybody react the way that your husband did". That just goes to show you how AMAZING it turned out. I can't wait to do it again and document another stage in my life for not only my husband, but also myself. I truly cherish having these to look back at and be reminded that even with my imperfections I can look DAMN GOOD.”

Hearing these words for the first time, also bought me to tears! Then later, this woman also shared even more details about her experience. And this my dear friends, is what it’s all about. It’s why I do this thing. These words, this truth, these realizations. Read on…

… “today as I reflect on all of the AMAZING women I’ve met, know & wish I knew, I realized just how fucking proud we should be of ourselves as women, clothes or no clothes. Being a woman is hard. The physical expectations put on us by society, & ourselves, can be debilitating. I’ve struggled with my body image as long as I can remember (which terrifies me to think about how much harder it is for girls growing up today) but after getting these pictures back I was in TEARS. But these were tears of gratitude for my body, for looking at myself and thinking HOLY SHIT I LOOK AMAZING. I can honestly say these were the first time I looked at myself NAKED & was proud to be the owner of that body. So my message is this : YOU ARE A WOMAN & THAT MAKES YOU FUCKING FABULOUS IN EVERY DAMN WAY. So happy International Womens Day to all you beautiful women. We rock. Now go take some naked pics of yourself & be proud. Or hire Kimberly Brooke Boudoir & she’ll do it for you.”

And there you have it. Sometimes you need to see yourself through the eyes of someone else for the fog to be lifted. To see clearly that you are beautiful just as you are and can be SO EFFING PROUD to be who you are, in YOUR body, in YOUR life. THIS is my why.

The experience will be different for every single woman, but that is because every single one of us is unique, and has our own story. And I love that. I love it so much that I cry my own tears of gratitude when I hear the hearts of my clients and how their experience with me changed a part of their life or their self-perspective, and that I somehow get to be a part of this. It’s powerful stuff y’all.

Beauty in Jewel Tones | Austin Boudoir Studio

The beautiful Miss A came to me knowing exactly what she wanted! And I love a woman who knows what she wants for her boudoir experience. Her excuse for the photoshoot was to give her husband an amazing Anniversary gift that would knock his socks off… the reason was to have a sexy set of images that showed who she is at this moment in her life. And she wanted to wear gorgeous jewel tones, lots of lace, and a bold lip and nail color to capture her edgy personal style. I loved every minute of it. Here are just a few favorite that the beautiful Miss A allowed me to share with the world. Enjoy! And if you’re ready for YOUR Austin Boudoir Photo Experience, click contact, gorgeous! - Cheers.

Texas Destination Photographer | Kimberly Brooke Boudoir

Sometimes it is so so so much fun to shoot in a space other than my studio! A beautiful hotel destination or someone’s amazing home are rare for me to shoot in for boudoir, but I love doing this when I take on clients who live out of town while I’m traveling. It’s great for the soul to get creative in a new space and do something different. An important part of being a good photographer (in my opinion) is being able to make beautiful imagery no matter where you find yourself. It’s a skill that you have to work on to master. Here are a few from a recent destination shoot. Enjoy.
